Avatar: The Last Airbender has no shortage of epic fight sequences, but Aang’s final confrontation with Fire Lord Ozai remains the most exciting of the bunch. And although Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will have plenty of ground to cover before reaching that pivotal moment, a behind-the-scenes photo gave fans an idea of what it might look like.

Shared on Instagram by Aang actor Gordon Cormier, the image sees the young star striking a pose across from Daniel Dae Kim. Known for his roles in Lost and Hawaii Five-0, Kim was announced as the series’ Big Bad back in November.

Kim certainly looks intimidating enough to play Ozai. And that’s just with the two of them in ordinary clothing without their CGI Bending abilities.

Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action remake is in production

Still, fans expressed plenty of excitement in the comments below Cormier’s post. Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender took some time to get off the ground, and the departure of original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino left many concerned about its future. However, things seem to be chugging along smoothly now that production is underway.

There’s no word on when the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender will release on Netflix, and the show has plenty of questions to answer when it does. For one, it’s unclear how closely it plans to stick to the source material. We also don’t know how many seasons the streamer is planning.

For now, fans will have to enjoy the BTS content they get from social media. Hopefully, we’ll get some updates on our favorite Benders soon. These tidbits have us eager to see them in action.
