The 2022 Winter Olympics are in full swing in Beijing, which means skiing, bobsledding and figure skating! (And curling can’t forget about curling.) It’s always fun to see how athletes approach their event; there’s a lot of opportunity for individuality in particular in figure skater, where the Olympians get to choose their own music and choreograph their own routine.

This can result in some really fun stuff. For instance, French figure skater Adam Siao Him Fa just did a routine all about Star Wars, from the music to the outfit. Watch below:

C’mon, he even drew air-lightsabers in time to the sound effects! That’s dedication.

Siao Him Fa, who has obviously seen all the movies, put the routine together with his coaches. “I feel there is a lot of energy I can give,” he said when asked about the music selection, particularly the hip-hop bit at the end. “It’s something new, but it feels good.”

Siao Him Fa got a short program score of 86.74, which was more than enough to get him to the next round, which happens on Thursday.

German figure skaters skate as the Joker and Harley Quinn

Meanwhile, over in the Pair Skating Short Program Team Event, German figure skaters Tim Dieck and Katharina Mueller did a routine inspired by the Joker and Harley Quinn. It even starts with a pretty creepy quote lifted from Jared Leto’s Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad. The actual video of their Olympics performance can’t be embedded on this page, but here’s one of them doing a similar schtick a while back:

Unfortunately, while the idea is creative, the pair got a score of 63.21, the lowest of the 10 teams competing that day.

Next. We will pry the Skywalker saga from Disney’s cold dead hands. dark
