Is The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power trailer dropping during the Super Bowl?
By WiC Staff
Amazon has been ramping up the hype for its upcoming Lord of the Rings show. First there was the announcement of the subtitle: The Rings of Power. Then there were the posters and the lengthy deep dive article. And finally they released a little video promising that a teaser trailer would be arriving on February 12:
February 12, of course, is the day that the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals face off in Super Bowl LVI. So it looks like we’ll get our first proper look at The Rings of Power during the commercials for the Super Bowl.
Amazon will probably drop a teaser trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power during Super Bowl LVI
Super Bowl commercials are famously expensive, but then again, this is Amazon we’re talking about; they famously have a lot of money. In fact, they’ve already spent a lot on this show, paying out $250 million alone just for the rights. No need to stop spending money now.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before Frodo and Sam and a bunch of the other characters we know from The Lord of the Rings proper were born. It will have an expansive cast and spectacular sets, costumes, and special effects. The show itself comes out on September 2.
