It’s been nearly three years since we’ve gotten new episodes of Stranger Things. Season 3 came out in the summer of 2019, when all of us were unaware of the dramatic changes just around the corner.

So here we are, and we’ve finally made it to what appears to be the end of this long, long wait. And hyping up the arrival of Stranger Things season 4 is none other than David Harbour, aka Sheriff Hopper. While attending a New York Knicks game, Harbour took a moment to flash an entertaining message on his phone to fans: “ST4 is coming sooon, promise.”

He was with co-star Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) at the game. If you’re wondering why he used the extra “o” in “sooon,” it’s either a typo or a secret code; you decide which.

Stranger Things Season 4 is “coming sooon”

How soon is “sooon”? According to the trailer, it’ll be out this summer. Season 3 came out in July, so perhaps they’ll be a repeat.

Whenever the new season premieres, fans can expect it to be “scary” and “truly messed up.” Teasers have put a lot of emphasis on the horror aspect of the show, together with the ever-present ’80s references. Robert Englund, who played Freddy Kruger in the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, will play a character named Victor Creel, who’s described as a “disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.” Please tell us more, Netflix! Please!

We may not know much about the new season, but what we do know is that when the show returns, things will be very different. As far as the group knows, Sheriff Hopper is dead. Of course, from what we’ve seen in teasers, he’s alive, although we have yet to learn how.

I know we all have a lot of questions, but Harbour has promised “sooon”, so let’s just hang tight and take him at his word.
