Amazon Prime Video scored a hit with Invincible, an animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s superhero comic series. It stars Steven Yeun as Mark Greyson, a teenager who discovers he has superpowers inherited from his dad, Omni-Man, voiced by J.K. Simmons.

Amazon is doubling down on the series and has already ordered two more seasons. But will we ever see a live-action adaptation? According to Kirkman, yes, although he cautions that it’s still early days. “I’m not telling!” Kirkman said last year during Comic-Con@Home. “This is another one of those things that’s a little early going but I will say that there are massive efforts going in to make sure that the film experience is unique [and separate from the animated series]…while also being true to Invincible. I couldn’t be more excited about the stuff that we’re doing but I can’t tell you yet.”

Obviously, there’s no cast in place yet for the Invincible movie, but that doesn’t mean the gears aren’t turning in fans’ heads.

Henry Cavill would make a terrific Omni-Man in an Invincible movie

For instance, look at this 3D model of actor Henry Cavill as Omni-Man created by Joel Torres:

Cavill has already played Superman in the DC Extended Universe. Omni-Man is essentially a meaner, more callous, fanatical version on Superman, so it seems like a good fit. Cavill would just have to bring a layer of darkness to the role, which a man of his talents should have no problem doing.

Then again, J.K. Simmons does a great job in the animated show, and he’s very much capable of bulking up to superheroic size in real life:

Whoever’s in charge of casting the movie has options, clearly.
