Hello there, indeed. Disney has finally dropped the first teaser trailer for the new Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The trailer premiered Wednesday during a Disney shareholders’ meeting and just hours after Entertainment Weekly revealed first-look images of the series.

Watch the full teaser trailer for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi:

The series is set years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, and follows Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) during his isolation on Tatooine. The desert planet is also where he becomes Ben Kenobi and watches over a young Luke Skywalker. Speaking to EW, McGregor — reprising his role as the defeated Jedi Master — said the new series finds Obi-Wan “rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up.”

With Kenobi set on Tatooine halfway between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, a young Luke Skywalker is bound to make an appearance. And appear he does in the teaser trailer, wearing goggles and playing atop his aunt and uncle’s homestead. In Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan promised he would look after the son of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. In the teaser, we see him using macrobinoculars to check in on the little guy. Young Luke is wearing goggles that look very much like the ones worn by a young Anakin while podracing in The Phantom Menace. Luke is also play-steering and “pushing” invisible thrusters. The father-son parallels are uncanny.

Who are the bad guys in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi?

While Order 66 wiped out hundreds of Jedi, there were still many Jedi and other Force-sensitive beings who escaped and went into hiding, Obi-Wan being one of them. The Inquisitors were Force-sensitive Dark Side users employed by the Galactic Empire to hunt down Jedi. They are key antagonists in several seasons of Star Wars: Rebels and have also appeared in the Darth Vader (2017) comic series and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. They wielded red blades, were governed by Darth Vader and led by the Grand Inquisitor (Rupert Friend), who we see several times in the teaser trailer.

The last part of the trailer features the Grand Inquisitor narrating tips on hunting Jedi while John Williams’ famous piece “Duel of the Fates” plays over the scenes. This composition is a favorite among Star Wars fans as it first played during the infamous Qui-Gon Jinn-Obi-Wan Kenobi-Darth Maul duel in The Phantom Menace. There’s also a quick shot of the Fifth Brother Inquisitor (Sung Kang) patrolling the streets of new planet Daiyu accompanied by stormtroopers.

The Kenobi trailer also introduces a new Inquisitor named Reva (Ingram), also known as the Third Sister. Brief glimpses show her interrogating Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton), threatening a group of locals on Tatooine and forcefully wielding her red lightsaber. (Speaking of lightsabers, the trailer also gives us the first shot of the Grand Inquisitor’s epic spinning lightsaber in action.)

Speaking to EW, Ingram said that Reva is close with the Grand Inquisitor as well as with Darth Vader, played by none other than Hayden Christensen. Unfortunately, he doesn’t show up in this teaser. But the trailer does close out with a few seconds of ominous Darth Vader heavy breathing, teasing the ultimate rematch of Kenobi and Skywalker/Vader to come.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 25 on Disney+.
