After years of waiting, Stranger Things is returning for its penultimate season on Netflix. The streamer has released a bevy of new images, so let’s get to looking.
The third season of Stranger Things ended with Sheriff Hopper seemingly dead and the Byers family (that’s Will, Jonathan and Joyce, with Eleven in tow) leaving Hawkins for sunny California. But obviously the gang is going to get back together at some point, right? A few images confirm that Mike, at least, with meet up with the Byers crew, either because he visits California or they return to Hawkins.
The ’80s haircuts are so very real. Don’t try this at home, folks.
Meanwhile, back in Hawkins…
Meanwhile, the kids left behind in Hawkins (based on these pictures I’m betting that Mike heads to California to visit his girlfriend), are having adventures of their own:
Above we have Max, Dustin and Erica doing something with a role made out of bed sheets tied together, a staple of any ’80s movie kid up to no good.
I do not know what kind of ’80s device Dustin, Erica and Lucas are enjoying here. Any ideas?
The older kids are mixing it up, too, including Steve, Nancy, Robin and a newcomer named Eddie Munson:
Apparently Eddie is way into D&D:
Good lord, these ’80s outfits. Once again, do not try this at home. These are paid professionals:
And of course, the younger and older kids will work together to defeat whatever eldritch monstrosity is haunting Hawkins this time around:
Jim Hopper returns (somehow) in Stranger Things 4
And finally, we have the adults, starting with Jim Hopper, who is somehow alive and imprisoned in Siberia. No idea how that happens:
And then there’s Joyce Byers, who looks nowhere near California in new image of her with slightly unhinged journalist Murray Bauman:
It looks like Stranger Things will open up a bit in season 4, but we can still expect lots of spooks and shivers:
See you soon.
The first half of Stranger Things season 4 drops on Netflix on May 27. The second half will arrive on July 1.
