Earlier this month, Amazon bought legendary movie studio MGM for $8.5 billion. That means they have the rights to the James Bond license, and now we’re seeing what they’re doing with it.

Actually, that’s a little unfair, because this project has been in the works at Amazon for a few years. But still. According to Variety, Prime Video will be the home of 007’s Road To A Million, a reality competition show where teams of two travel the world stopping at spots where scenes in the James Bond movies have been filmed over the years. While there, they will take on physical obstacles as well as answer questions.

It basically sounds like The Amazing Race but with more martinis and exploding pens, which could be fun. At the end, the winning team will net £1 million, $1.3 million. Not too shabby.

Contestants can win over a million dollars in 007’s Road To A Million

I’m particularly intrigued by some of those physical challenges, cause Bond has cleared his share of wild roadblocks over the years. Might contestants be strapped to a table while a laser slowly inches closer to their flesh? Could they get spun at full forge in a centrifuge? Surely they won’t have to endure the bit with the bottomless chair from Casino Royale?

I bet you’d forgotten that was in a Bond movie, didn’t you? You’re welcome.

In any case, 007’s Road To A Million will have either episodes. We don’t yet know when it might come out.
