Spock and Pike get down in trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Paramount+ has dropped a trailer for its upcoming Star Trek spinoff show Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Will this one be able to stand out from the flurry of Trek series on the air at the moment, including Discovery and Picard? You decide:

Strange New Worlds will return to the original crew of the unaired Star Trek pilot from back in the ’60s, led by Captain Pike (Anson Mount), Number One (Rebecca Romijn) and Spoke (Ethan Peck). The gimmick here is that, unlike other modern Trek shows, this one will be made up of standalone episodes, rather than long serialized stories.

There’s also more sex than I was expecting. “Perhaps we should kiss.” “That seems logical.” Hot. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on May 5.
