Interview With The Vampire show gets a teaser, logo and release window
By Dan Selcke
AMC is making a TV show based on Interview With The Vampire, Anne Rice’s classic novel about a very mopey bloodsucker named Louis who spends the melancholy centuries with his sire/arch-enemy/life partner Lestat. The book was adapted as a 1994 movie starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. The new show stars Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) as Louis and Sam Reid as Lestat.
AMC has been teasing the show more and more of late, releasing the first images last week. Now they’ve put out the briefest of teaser trailers; we don’t see Louis and Lestat, but we do see their his-and-his coffins, plus plenty of the New Orleans moodiness the series is known for. Watch below:
Nothing like Mozart’s Requiem to set the mood for your melancholy vampire story.
AMC also released the official logo for the show:
It’s all happening.
Interview With The Vampire arrives on AMC this fall
You may have noticed the captions on those posts: “Arriving fall, 2002.” We have a release window!
If this show is a hit, it could just be the beginning; AMC has purchased the rights to several books in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles series, along with her Mayfair Witches novels. Is this the dawn of the Anne Rice Cinematic Universe? We’ll find out later this year.
