After what has felt like years, we’re finally approaching the premiere of Jurassic World: Dominion. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is almost here and words can’t express the excitement I feel.

What makes this installment extra special is that it features the original trio of actors who headlined the very first Jurassic Park movie: Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Oh, and Colin Trevorrow came back after directing the original Jurassic World movie in 2015.

It’s going to be a thrilling return to the franchise’s roots, and I am looking forward to seeing how the original trio fits in with the likes of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. We can also look forward to seeing some new dinosaurs, including the Gigantosaurus. According to an interview Trevorrow did with Empire, this new dino is “like the Joker”.

I’m not sure what that means, but I am so here for it.

Get ready for Jurassic World: Dominion’s new big bad dinosaur

Luckily, you don’t have to wait until June 10 to get your first glimpse of the “Giga” dinosaur. Check it out below:

You might be wondering what the heck Trevorrow means when he says the “Giga” is “like the Joker.” I was looking for some purple or white streaks of color somewhere, but it turns out he means in personality.

According to Trevorrow, the Giga “just wants to watch the world burn.” Instead of just eating people for food, maybe it finds joy in torturing its prey? That sounds like the Joker, right?

Whatever this new dino is like, I’m definitely looking forward to what promises to be an epic conclusion to one of the best franchises we’ve ever had. Check out Jurassic World: Dominion when it premieres in theaters on July 10, 2022.
