Catwoman and Penguin feature in deleted scenes from The Batman
By Ashley Hurst
Matt Reeves’ The Batman clocked in at just under three hours long, continuing the trend of modern movies being crazy long. And if the movie itself wasn’t enough to satisfy you, the home release will have you covered with deleted scenes, one of which will see Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) come face to face with the Penguin (Colin Farrell)!
Not much is actually known about this scene and what it will entail. However, according to Collider, the scene is short at a minute and a half and takes place inside the 44 Below Club, a secret club inside the Iceberg Lounge owned by Penguin.
In the movie, Selena Kyle does make her way into the secret club — with Batman watching through her eyes; it’s a long story — but she doesn’t bump into Penguin at any point. Instead, she’s greeted by some of Gotham’s most powerful people, including mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
A deleted scene showing Batman meeting Barry Keoghan’s Joker in Arkham Asylum has already gone viral. You can watch it below, for either the first time or umpteenth time:
What other special features are included in the home release?
Thanks to a report from TheWrap, we know everything the 4K UHD combo pack and Blu-ray will contain. As expected, it’s absolutely chock-full of bonus content for superfans, from a feature on the practical effects of the car chase scene to that crazy transformation of Colin Farrell to Oswald Cobblepot.
- Vengeance In The Making
- Vengeance Meets Justice
- The Batman: Genesis
- Becoming Catwoman
- Looking for Vengeance
- Anatomy of The Car Chase
- Anatomy of The Wingsuit
- A Transformation: The Penguin
- The Batmobile
- Unpacking The Icons
- Deleted Scenes with Director’s Commentary
And deleted scenes and bonus materials are just the beginning. There’s a lot of The Batman content on the horizon, with two spinoff TV shows currently in development. One show is set at Arkham Asylum while the other is all about The Penguin.
