The CW cancels DC’s Legends of Tomorrow after 7 seasons
By Dan Selcke
Yesterday, we heard that The CW had cancelled Batwoman after three seasons. Now, the network has cancelled DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as well.
Co-showrunner Keto Shimizu broke the news on Twitter:
Legends of Tomorrow ran for seven seasons and 110 episodes. It had a reputation for being one of the lighter DC shows in The CW’s roster.
Why did The CW cancel Legends of Tomorrow?
The CW is bringing down the axe lately. At the moment, parent companies Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Global have been considering a sale of the network, which seems to have inspired some housecleaning.
Several of the Arrowverse shows birthed by Greg Berlanti remain. Both The Flash and Superman & Lois have been renewed for new seasons. Stargirl, which has a third season coming up, may or may not be back for a fourth. The CW has also ordered a pilot for Gotham Knights, a show about what happens after Batman is killed and blame is placed on the children of his most famous villains.
The CW has also renewed All American, Kung Fu, Nancy Drew, Riverdale and Walker. Charmed, Dynasty, In the Dark, Legacies, Roswell, New Mexico, All American: Homecoming, 4400, Naomi and Tom Swift all remain in the balance.
