Moon Knight, Marvel’s latest live-action series on Disney+, wrapped up today. But Marvel always has a new thing just around the corner, and soon enough we’ll be watching Ms. Marvel, the first MCU series with a Pakistani lead.

Ms. Marvel revolves around Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager who idolizes Captain Marvel (she’ll actually feature in the movie The Marvels in 2023). Kamala was only introduced into Marvel comics in 2013, where she quickly became a favorite. Not long after, she had her own superpowers, and now her own series.

Kamala will be played by Iman Vellani, who won the role after an extensive search. One kink is that Disney+ isn’t actually available yet in Pakistan. But the show is important enough that HKC Entertainment is going to show the episodes in theaters two at a time, according to Variety. Episodes 1 and 2 will be out on June 16; Episodes 3 and 4 on June 30; and Episodes 5 and 6 on July 14.

“The series is a wonderful celebration of Pakistani art, culture and talent as there is such a diverse engagement of Pakistani creatives across the board,” said HKC Entertainment CEO Hammad Chaudhry. “We couldn’t have asked for a better Eid gift than this huge announcement.”

The Eid-ul-Fitr holidays are currently underway in Pakistan and known to be a time of peak cinema attendance. Movies are only growing in popularity in the country; Spider-Man: No Way Home pulled in $1.75 million even though it showed in only 53 theaters.

For people outside of Pakistan, Ms. Marvel will start streaming on Disney+ on June 8.
