House of the Dragon is coming in August

Heading into the home stretch of the trailer, we get a battery of images that are open to interpretation. What do we make of the image above, of guards throwing a guy onto the ground? I suspect the guy might be Alicent’s son Aegon, who is known to be a bit of a sullen layabout who gets into trouble.

Next we have a mysterious image of blood welling between someone’s fingers as they tightly grip something. Again, I’m open to suggestions.

This almost looks like a shot from The Lord of the Rings. But nope, just a couple of Targaryens.

Daemon Targaryen means business. This might be from the same beachside scene we saw before.

Okay, this one is big. So Rhaenrya and Alicent are rivals because they want different people on the Iron Throne. But that’s not all they have between them. Their kids also hate each other, to the point where they get into a fight and one of Alicent’s children, Aemond, loses an eye. Alicent is so furious that she rushes into the throne room and demands that King Viserys take the eyes from one of Rhaenrya’s children in return. And in this photo, it looks like she goes further by trying to stab Rhaenyra directly, which doesn’t happen in George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood.

Finally, we end on Daemon Targaryen visiting a dragon, always a dangerous game.
