There are probably some Game of Thrones fans out there would get starstruck if they ran into Sophie Turner at an event; how are you supposed to maintain your composure when you’re talking to the Queen in the North?
As it ends up, Turner herself knows the feeling. “I’m really bad around celebrities,” she said during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “Every celebrity I come into contact with, I act up or say something stupid…Recently it’s been, if a celebrity interacts with me, I immediately just shut them down and I’m like, ‘I don’t want anything to do with you.’ And secretly I’m like, ‘I love you so much.'”
Apparently, she’s “gone too far” in the other direction and geeked out to an embarrassing degree, so this is the safer course. But that does leave her with regrets sometimes. For instance, when she ran into Kendall Jenner — of the Kardashian dynasty — at the Met Gala the other week.
When Sophie Turner turned down Kendall Jenner at the Met Gala
“So, Kendall Jenner, she was at the Met,” Turner explained. “And I love the Kardashians, but I think she’s so gorgeous in real life, and I was so struck by her beauty, and she invited me to this after party — this low-key afterparty. She went, like, ‘Do you want to come?’ And I just went, ‘No. No.'”
"And I’m like, ‘Why? Why do I do this to myself?’ And then I just sat in bed and ate pasta. And I was like, ‘I could be somewhere else right now.’"
To be fair, eating pasta in bed doesn’t sound like a bad time, something Turner admitted.
You can currently see Turner starring alongside Toni Collette and Colin Firth in the true crime thriller The Staircase on HBO Max.
