The hunt is on in the first teaser for Hulu’s Predator prequel Prey

Earlier today, Netflix dropped a sizzle reel teasing some of their big upcoming genre releases, including the first new footage of The Sandman that we’ve seen in a while. It was exciting…but you didn’t think all those other streaming services were just going to rest on their laurels, did you?

A slew of other trailers dropped today. First up, we got a brand new look at The Boys season 3, which comes to Prime Video next month:

The Boys is one of the weirdest, grossest, most violently hilarious shows on any streaming service. It’s a dark subversion of our current superhero media craze, and it’s not afraid to go where other shows wouldn’t dare. From sex with sea creatures to psychotic superheroes, corporate scandals and societal commentary, there’s always something unpredictable coming around the corner.

Season 3 of The Boys will introduce a few interesting new elements. A year has passed since the events of season 2, but of course Homelander (Anthony Starr) is as much of a basket case as ever; more so, in fact, since he and Stormfront (Aya Cash) were defeated in a stand-off against Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and the rest. Apparently, the follow-up PR tour is difficult for him, which should surprise no one.

The trailer also gives us our best look yet at Captain America parody Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), as well as letting us know how Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) got superpowers of his own this time around. Apparently, there’s a serum that allows the user to become a Supe for 24 hours. What could go wrong?

The Boys season 3 premieres on Prime Video on June 3.

In other trailer news, Hulu just dropped a teaser revealing the first footage of its upcoming Predator prequel movie Prey. Set 300 years before the events of the iconic 1987 movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Prey will see the advanced alien hunters stalk warriors of the Commanche Nation.

The movie stars Amber Midthunder as Naru, our lead character and probably one of the only people who will survive the Predator’s attack, since that’s how these movies typically go. The plot synopsis describes her as a “fierce and highly skilled warrior,” which she’d have to be if she wants to go up against one of sci-fi horror’s most recognizable aliens.

The teaser gives us only a few short glimpses of Naru running through the forest before she’s pulled into the cover of the tall grass by a fellow warrior. Unfortunately, Predators have thermal vision in their helmets so that isn’t going to help much. When the iconic three-dot laser sight pops up on the warrior’s face, they’re in big trouble.

Prey features an almost entirely Native American cast, which Entertainment Weekly credits to its being produced by Jhane Myers, a Sundance Fellow who is known for her work portraying the Commanche and Blackfeet nations. In addition to Midthunder, Prey also stars Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal). Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) with a screenplay by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan). It drops on Hulu on August 5.

For All Mankind season 3 trailer

Meanwhile, Apple TV+ released the first trailer for season 3 of its science fiction drama For All Mankind, which explores an alternate history of Earth where the space race developed in a completely different direction. The show’s first two seasons revolved around competition between the United States and Russia to establish a foothold on the moon in the ’70s and ’80s. Season 3 looks to up the ante pretty significantly, with a threeway race to colonize Mars between the U.S., Russia, and a private corporation called Helios. The effects look gorgeous, and the music choice of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” feels just right.

For All Mankind is the creation of Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander), Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert. Its cast includes Joel Kinnaman (The Suicide Squad), Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Wrenn Schmidt, Coral Peña, Krys Marshall, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson and Edi Gathegi.

For All Mankind season 3 premieres June 10 on Apple TV+. The season consists of 10 episodes, which will drop weekly.

The Boys debuts on Amazon Prime Video on June 3. Prey premieres on Hulu August 5. For All Mankind hits Apple TV+ on June 10.
