She-Hulk: Attorney at Law — August 17 on Disney+

After Ms. Marvel wraps up, Disney is hoping for another summer smash with She-Hulk, about a lawyer named Jennifer Walters (the talented Tatiana Maslany) who finds herself with the ability to turn into a mean green crime-fighting machine.

Jennifer Walters is actually the cousin of Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk. He’ll show up here to help Jennifer work through her newfound superpowers. In the comics, Jennifer gets her Hulk abilities after getting a blood transfusion from her cousin, although we don’t know if that’s how it’ll happen in the comics.

One things the show might clue us in on is how the Hulk mellowed out between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame; I assume he’ll teach Jennifer the same technique so she doesn’t have it as rough as he did.

If you enjoy Marvel stuff, this could be worth a shot; it looks more comedy-oriented than some of the studio’s recent output, like Moon Knight. If not, we have a couple of heavy hitters left for you.

House of the Dragon — August 21 on HBO

Game of Thrones ended three years ago. Now, after a couple of false starts, HBO is returning to Westeros with House of the Dragon, a new show set some 200 years before the original.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & BloodHouse of the Dragon tells the story of a brutal civil war fought between rival factions of the Targaryen family, then at the height of its power. We’re talking brother fighting brother, daughter fighting step-mother, and of course, dragon fighting dragon. In a lot of ways, the story is more bleak than Game of Thrones, which is saying something.

Like its mother show, House of the Dragon has a complicated story, a huge cast, and a lavish production. There’s a lot riding on it; for HBO, for fantasy, even for TV. But if House of the Dragon doesn’t take off, the fantasy revolution still has one more card to play:
