Spider-Man: No Way Home was a resounding success at the box office and gave fans absolutely everything we wanted. We got three Spider-Men, a gripping story, and the thrill of seeing our favorite villains from Spider-movies past coming together.

This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that Sony is interested doing in another Spider-Man film with the same cast. Of course, that’s always easier said than done, especially with Sony and Marvel sharing custody of some of these characters. Basically, Sony has the screen rights to Spider-Man while Marvel operates the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony and Marvel came to an agreement whereby Tom Holland’s Peter Parker could be part of the MCU, but as of this writing that agreement is over, and there’s no confirmation on whether the band will get back together for another movie.

Does Sony want to do another Spider-Man movie?

Deadline interviewed Sony Chairman Tim Rothman, who confirmed that there is hope for another Spider-Man movie within this continuity. “We hope to get working on the next Spider-Man movie,” he said. He also said that he “hoped” to bring back director Jon Watts as well as some of the core cast from Spider-Man: No Way Home, including Zendaya and Tom Holland.

Sony is also working on movies starring characters from Spider-Man’s rogue’s gallery, like Venom. “That’s Kraven, which we’re shooting now, and Madam Web, which we’ll start in the spring with S.J. Clarkson directing,” Rothman said. “And then there are many Marvel characters that are standalone.”

But Spider-Man is where the money is. Time will tell if another movie comes together, but in the meantime Holland is out there living his best life and taking a much-needed vacation from the Spider-ness of it all.
