In the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas that left 21 dead, Netflix has added a warning before the premiere episode of Stranger Things season 4.

This past Tuesday, an 18-year-old gunman killed 21 people at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Two of the victims were adults and 19 were children. Since it happened, this latest school shooting has dominated discussions among politicians, news organizations, and has even inspired a reaction from Netflix, which added a warning card before the premiere episode of the newly released fourth season of Stranger Things, per CNN.

That premiere episode opens with a brutal depiction of a massacre at the laboratory where a young Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is kept captive under the watch of Dr. Brenner (Matthew Modine), who is studying her psychic and telekinetic abilities, along with those of several other children. In the scene, most of the other kids in the program lay dead, so you can see why Netflix would draw the connection to the shooting at Robb Elementary.

“We filmed this season of Stranger Things a year ago,” the warning card reads. “But given the recent tragic shooting at a school in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of episode 1 distressing. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to every family mourning a loved one.”

Netflix also added a couple of notes that read, “Warning: Contains graphic violence involving children,” and “disturbing images.”

Netflix previously released the first eight minutes of Stranger Things season 4, but has since taken the video private.
