Dwayne Johnson, aka the Rock, has been talking about Black Adam for a very long time, since even before Shazam! came out in 2019. Black Adam is technically a spinoff of Shazam; both of the title characters got their powers from the same wizard, although where Shazam is a big goofy guy who tries to do the right thing, Black Adam is a bit of a jerk who punches jets out of the sky and murders dudes left and right.

In fact, Black Adam was originally conceived by DC as a villain for Shazam, although over the years he became something of an antihero. We’re on the edgy side of the superhero spectrum here.

And the Rock will play him. Given that professional wrestling is basically superhero storytelling on stage, it’s kind of shocking that Johnson hasn’t appeared in a big franchise superhero film before this. But that all ends on October 21. Watch below:

Black Adam also stars Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Warner Bros. is giving this whole superhero universe thing another go.

Prey will have a Comanche language track; watch the trailer

There are other trailers to enjoy. Check out the latest for Prey, a Predator sequel that involves the iconic alien hunter visiting a Comanche tribe in the distant past in the Americas. The movie follows Naru (Amber Midthunder), a young hunter who goes up against the alient threat.

It’s a really cool idea for a franchise movie. You can watch the trailer below:

As you can hear, Prey is in English, but the actors also dubbed their lines over for a Comanche voice track. Prey will be available on Hulu on August 5.

Finally, Netflix put out a behind-the-scenes look at Day Shift, a new movie starring Jamie Foxx as a vampire hunter. Take a look:

Day Shift is out on August 12.
