11. Lando

Another Star Wars spinoff Disney announced during its investor presentation was Lando, which is set to follow the swaggering smuggler Lando Calrissian. The stand-alone series is being developed by Justin Simien (Dear White People) and will air on Disney+. “Lando Calrissian is the galaxy’s smoothest, most notorious scoundrel, and he’ll return in a brand-new event series for Disney+,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said during the presentation.

Who will star as Lando? Well, it depends on when the series will take place. Some fans are hoping for Donald Glover to return to role of the younger Lando he played in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story — a Lando he played to charming, cunning perfection. Other fans are hoping for Billy Dee Williams, the original Lando, to reprise his role again after once again donning the character’s iconic cape in The Rise of Skywalker.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but fans have been clamoring for more and sharing what they’d like to see in the new series. Earlier this year, Collider published a detailed list of things it would like to see in Lando, including his gambling and smuggling past (“like Casino Royale but in space”), his role as administrator of Cloud City, more of his history with Han Solo and Chewbacca, and an exploration of the character’s pansexuality.
