Obi-Wan Kenobi is the latest Star Wars series on Disney+, and while it’s been a wild ride, the end is in sight. The series sees Ewan McGregor return as the titular Jedi Master, with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, the series delves into a period of time when scattered Jedi survivors are on the run, Vader is at the height of his power, Obi-Wan just wants to be left alone to hang out with Jawas in the desert, and Princess Leia is a precocious little girl who’s just beginning to realize how terrible the Empire can be.

In short, it’s been something of a dream show for a lot of people who grew up loving the original and prequel Star Wars trilogies created by George Lucas. It also ties in elements from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Of all the shows Lucasfilm has made for Disney+, Obi-Wan Kenobi is by far the one most entrenched in the established Star Wars mythology.

But how much longer do we have before the adventure ends?

How many episodes is Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi?

As of this writing, Obi-Wan Kenobi is still set to be a limited series comprised of six episodes total. While Lucasfilm has hinted that it’s contemplating continuing the story in some way due to the largely positive response to the series, nothing has been confirmed or announced. Due to the standalone nature of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s story, however, it’s very possible that if it returned for another season it would be a very different kind of show.

“It was definitely conceived as a limited series and it is one big story with a beginning, middle, and end. So that’s the way we’ve always approached it,” said showrunner and director Deborah Chow shortly before Obi-Wan Kenobi’s release. “The approach has always been that it is one full story.”

So as it stands, all we know for sure is that Obi-Wan Kenobi is a complete story with six parts. Impermanence is part of the galaxy.

The series finale of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi drops on Disney+ on Wednesday, June 22. Fortunately, Disney always has plenty of other Star Wars projects in the hopper:
