Stranger Things is famously reluctant to kill off main characters. Oh, sure it’ll bump off people here and there, but there’s always a caveat. Barb died in season 1, but she was a minor character. Bob died in season 2, but he was brought on for that one season to be a sacrificial lamb. And Billy died in season 3, but he was a jerk who was only rehabilitated about three minutes before his death.
They almost killed a main character when Hopper appeared to die in the season 3 finale; he got a big dramatic death scene and everything, but then he returned in season 4 and got a full arc of his own.
But perhaps change is coming. Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to tease the final two episodes of Stranger Things season 4, which drop on July 1. And apparently, we should brace ourselves.
Who will die in the final two episodes of Stranger Things season 4?
“You can expect from Volume Two, we’ve got some deaths coming, some gore, and a big–” Schnapp began, before Fallon cut him off before he potentially revealed something he shouldn’t. “I didn’t say who ,” Schnapp replied.
"Well, you guys can assume that, obviously, somebody’s going to…Well, I’m done here because you’re scaring me."
So close.
By this point, there are a lot of characters who could be on the chopping block. Will could bite it. Mike might eat it. Jonathan or Nancy or Max or Lucas or Dustin or Robin or Steve or Joyce or even Eleven! Maybe they’ll kill Hopper again and make it stick.
Then there are the more minor characters like Murray or Erica, and newcomers like Argyle, Eddie and Dmitri. I swear, if they kill off Dmitri and act like it’s a huge death I will be nettled. Give us a big name!
