Game of Thrones was known for asking more of its audiences than a lot of shows. Do you remember how many characters there were on that show? How many groups? How many names? How many subplots? It was a lot to remember, but the success of the series shows something important: if a story is good enough, audiences will put in the work.

Apparently, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have a taste for that kind of sprawling storytelling, because their next show will be The Three-Body Problem for Netflix, an adaptation of author Liu Cixin’s Remembrance of Earth’s Past series. This is a huge, multi-generational story about what happens when Earth finally makes contact with an alien species…and has reason to believe they’re not entirely friendly.

Like Game of ThronesThe Three-Body Problem will have an enormous cast. Naturally, Benioff and Weiss have recruited a couple of their old colleagues from Game of Thrones, including Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) and John Bradley (Samwell Tarly). Now, another GoT alum has jumped on board.

Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow) joins his Game of Thrones bosses in The Three-Body Problem

The Hollywood Reporter brings us the news of three more actors joining The Three-Body Problem: Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer and Jonathan Pryce, the latter of whom you might remember as the High Sparrow from Game of Thrones, alongside many other roles over the course of his long career. He’s also going to play the elderly Prince Philip on the upcoming fifth and sixth seasons of The Crown.

Pryce did a fantastic job with the High Sparrow on Game of Thrones, taking a villainous character who could have been one-note and giving him depth and dimension. Whoever he’s playing on The Three-Body Problem, the show is lucky to have him.

The show also stars Jovan Adepo, Eiza González, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Alex Sharp, Sea Shimooka, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani and Benedict Wong, whom you may recognize as Wong from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And there are definitely more actors yet to be announced. Like we said, this is a big show.

We don’t know when The Three-Body Problem will drop on Netflix, but it’s good to see the ball rolling on it.
