The Boys is one of those TV shows that never fails to surprise. Season 3 has upped the ante even further with Herogasms and exploding urethras and whatnot. Remember the wild Supe hamster from Episode 4? He’s actually a fan favorite from the comics, and we may not have seen the last of him yet.

During the season 3 episode, “Glorious Five Year Plan,” when Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his group search a Russian military compound, they meet Jamie, a cute little hamster and the first animal to have taken Compound V. As a result, the hamster possesses some crazy superpowers. We see him fly into a soldier’s eye and start eating him from the inside. Unfortunately, Jamie’s role in the episode was little more than a cameo, a nod to fans of the comic who have been eagerly awaiting his first appearance.

That said, there’s always a chance we could see Jamie make another appearance. Fans sure hope so. Showrunner Eric Kripke recently teased that he’s keen to bring Jamie back into the fold. “I would love to get this hamster back,” he told TV Line. “Jamie is actually from the comics and so it was a bit of a cameo, an actually beloved character.” In the source material, Jamie is Hughie’s pet hamster.

Jamie’s potential return sounds good, but the logistics of weaving him back into the plot may prove difficult. “If I can figure out a way to get that hamster from Russia to the United States, I would love to have that character [back],” Kripke said.

The Boys season 4 begins filming soon!

Between the animated spinoff Diabolical and an upcoming live-action spinoff, The Boys is building out an extended universe. But the original show is still the main draw. Season 4 will begin filming next month, going by what Karl Urban told Collider:

"Yeah, we’re starting I think August the 22nd, we’re going to be starting season four. So I’m getting back, getting my Butcher back on, and I can’t wait. It’s a fun gang to play with, we work hard and play hard, and I can’t wait to see where they take the characters from where we leave them at the end of this season."

At this point, is it possible for them to push the TV-MA rating any further? The Boys season 3 continues Fridays on Amazon Prime.
