There’s a Game of Thrones-themed subdivision in Corpus Christi, Texas called King’s Landing. A fire broke out on Lannister Street. Cersei remains at large.

In the early morning hours of June 27, fire broke out in King’s Landing. Not the actual King’s Landing — that’s a fictional place on the war-torn continent of Westeros — I mean a new subdivision in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Yes, according to area outlet 3News, there is a Game of Thrones-themed subdivision called King’s Landing in Nueces County in Texas. The fire was on Lannister street, obviously. I’m being told we have footage of the incident, below:

But not really. The fire was actually in a residential house where no one was living; the whole development is under construction, so there aren’t many people there yet, and thank goodness.  The fire was put out in 20 minutes. No one died, although one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion on the scene; they’re expected to be okay. As for the house, it’s a complete loss.

I wouldn’t mind living on Lannister Street, just for the hell of it. Although you figure most people would wanna go to Stark Lane or even Targaryen Boulevard; I wonder if that’ll affect resale value.

Let’s hope no more incidents befall King’s Landing before it starts welcoming residents. Keep your eyes on the skies, people…

Next. George R.R. Martin will be at the House of the Dragon panel at SDCC. dark
