9. What happened to Doctor Owens?

The foil to the psychotic Doctor Brenner, Owens is the kindly face of Hawkins Lab who tries to help Eleven regain her powers in season 4. He also helped Will Byers in season 2 when he was possessed by the Mind Flayer.

We last saw Owens in a pretty precarious place. After lying to the military and bringing Eleven to the secret Nina Project bunker, Owens is taken captive by Doctor Brenner when he tries to help her leave to go help her friends in Hawkins. This all happens right before the military finally finds the bunker and kills most everyone in it. Owens is last seen handcuffed to a pipe in the underground lab, where he’s taken into custody by Lt. Colonel Sullivan.

Sullivan didn’t believe Owens when the doctor tried to warn him about Vecna. But now that the Upside Down is spilling into Hawkins, Owens’ expertise might be a lot more valuable. We’ll need to find out what happened to Owens, because no way have we seen the last of him.

10. Where is Eight?

Season 2 of Stranger Things had an episode that was wholly devoted to Eleven going on a road trip to meet Eight, another psychic child experimented on in Hawkins Lab. Despite the fact that many fans pushed back against this episode, Eight still has a pretty important place in the show’s mythology. In fact, she’s only more important now that we found out what happened to all the other psychic children. Eight, Eleven, and Henry Creel are the only survivors of Hawkins Lab.

Whether you loved Eight or hated her, now that Stranger Things is moving toward its endgame, the time has come to bring her back. She was referenced during season 4, so we know that the show isn’t trying to write her out or anything. Instead, it needs to own this character and make the most of her.

Eight was more concerned with vengeance against Hawkins Lab than being a hero in season 2, but with Henry Creel wreaking havoc across the world, Eleven will need all the help she can get. Before the final battle, we’re going to need to see Eight at least one more time.
