Alfie Allen shares behind-the-scenes Game of Thrones pics, and other stuff
By Dan Selcke
As usual, the actors from Game of Thrones are burning it up in their professional lives. Let’s check in with them, but first, Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) posted a blast from the past: a cache of images from his time on the show:
I like the makeup notes for Theon. He did indeed look “really f##ked” a lot of the time.
Watch trailers for new movies with Nathalie Emmanuel and Gwendoline Christie
Okay, moving on to non-Game of Thrones projects, Nathalie Emmaneul (Missandei) is starring in The Invitation, about a woman who learns she has a long-lost cousin in England. Fun, right? Well, he and the rest of her extended family are vampires…so yes, very fun.
Check out the trailer below:
The Invitation comes out on August 26. C’mon, Missandei, make it out this time.
Moving on, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) is starring in Flux Gourmet, a very strange-looking movie about a culinary school. Get your eyeballs ready for the trailer below:
The costumes, the photography, the Christie…I’m sold. Flux Gourmet is out now.
HBO cancels Gentleman Jack
It’s great that these GoT vets have shiny new gigs, but another must say goodbye to one of her projects: after two seasons, HBO has cancelled the period drama Gentleman Jack, where Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) played the uptight Englishwoman Marian Lister. Whelan mourned the loss of the show on her Instagram:
But lest you worry she’s fallen on hard times, Whelan’s cop drama The Tower was renewed for a second season on ITV. She’s also joined the Disney+ drama Balenciaga, so she’s doing just fine.
Finally, I leave you with this video of sculptor Alexey Vikulov making a bust in the likeness of Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane on Game of Thrones.
I don’t know why this sculptor is doing this. Frankly, I don’t want to know; sometimes the magic is in the mystery.
