Who does Eliza Taylor play in The Orville: New Horizons?
By WiC Staff
The latest episode of The Orville: New Horizons continues the show’s tradition of having standout guest stars. Earlier episodes of the show’s third season featured appearances by Elizabeth Gillies (Dyansty), Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5), Lisa Banes (Gone Girl), Michaela McManus (One Tree Hill), and more. It’s a stacked list of guests, and with a few more episodes to go, we expect it to continue.
“From Unknown Graves” added a few more guest stars to The Orville’s impressive roster, including Australian actor Eliza Taylor. Taylor is best known for her time on The CW’s The 100, where she played lead character Clarke Griffith. But who is she in The Orville: New Horizons?
Eliza Taylor The Orville: New Horizons
On The Orville, Taylor plays a character named Dr. Villka, a scientist who makes a startling breakthrough regarding the robotic Kaylons. After finding a stranded Kaylon on a desolate planet, Villka discovers a way to activate emotions in the non-biological lifeform, giving them a full range of feelings to experience the universe. Villka’s discovery will likely play a large role in the upcoming final episodes of The Orville’s third season, though it’s not yet known whether Taylor will reprise the role in future episodes.
Before The Orville: New Horizons and The 100, Taylor got her big break playing Janae Timmins on the Australian sitcom Neighbors. The Orville may have slipped us a fun nod to this factoid in “From Unknown Graves,” where the Kaylon companion to Taylor’s character is named Timmis.
The Orville: New Horizons airs new episodes every Thursday on Hulu.
