For the last few years, we’ve heard countless rumors regarding who will be cast as the next James Bond. Will it be a male or a female? Will it be a person of color? Honestly, we have no idea. Isn’t it about time the James Bond people just let us know?

There’s a long list of fan favorites for the role, including Richard Madden, Idris Elba, and Outlander’s Sam Heughan. I would love that last one, but you know who could be even better? Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect casting?

While I might think so, James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli claims that, “Nobody’s in the running.” But that certainly will not stop us from dreaming and speculating, even if Broccoli claims the next film is “at least two years away.”

Regé-Jean Page as the next 007? Yes, please.

Ever since Bridgerton was released on Netflix, Page has gained millions of fans. As the Duke of Hastings, he cast a spell on all of us with his selfishly good looks and that amazing British accent. And Page’s appeal has gone up ten-fold after appearing in Netflix’s The Gray Man alongside Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. I mean, that’s as Bond as you can get without actually doing a Bond film, so I think he’s already proven his ability to be a badass super spy.

The Gray Man was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the same guys behind movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and they are fully behind Regé-Jean Page becoming James Bond. “He’s fantastic,” Joe told Radio Times. “I mean, he has more charisma in his pinky than most people do in their entire body. So you know, we’d watch him do anything—I mean, we’d watch him read the phonebook!” Same, Joe.

This kind of speculation will not stop until they cast the next James Bond. Your move, Broccoli.
