“There hasn’t been any talk” of Ms. Marvel season 2

It’s no secret that I absolutely loved Ms. Marvel. It was a beautiful and show that depicted my culture lovingly and accurately; it was the first time I saw myself onscreen in a show this big. It had some flaws, but there was just so much to love and admire about it.

Iman Vellani shined as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, and the rest of the motley crew of characters were equally exciting and fun. And now we’re all itching for more. We want to see Kamala’s story continue, and we want to see more of her family.

But is that going to happen? Is Marvel even thinking of doing another season on Disney+?

Will there be a Ms. Marvel season 2 on Disney+?

While we’re going to see Kamala Khan again in next year’s The Marvels, we do not know if we will see another season of her series on Disney+. In an interview with Comicbook.comMs. Marvel cinematographer Jules O’Loughlin revealed that she wasn’t sure about the show’s future.

“Listen, hand on heart, I can honestly say that at this stage, I haven’t heard of any plans for a Season 2,” O’Loughlin said. “[T]here’s so much going on with Marvel, and there’s stuff happening and popping up all the time, but I haven’t heard of anything, [director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy] hasn’t heard of anything. The next thing for Iman and the character of Kamala is to be in The Marvels. But at this stage, there hasn’t been any talk of a season two on Ms. Marvel.”

Oh, no, don’t tell us that! I need a season 2; my community and people demand it! I can’t imagine not getting to see more of Kamala’s story.

That said, if there is no second season, it won’t come as a complete shock. Marvel’s grand plans are intricate, and Kamala’s story may just continue through the movies. Also, it’s tough to say when a second season might take place in the timeline. As we learned during San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel’s plans through Phase 6 are very detailed and jam-packed. Perhaps Marvel boss Kevin Feige will have more updates during the upcoming D23 convention. I think that will be a more series-heavy panel, so stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed; I know mine will be!
