The Boys just finished a wild, successful third season, and a fourth is definitely on the way. Expect more new cast members. According to IGN, they’ve recently cast The Tick’s Valorie Curry as Firecracker and Orange is The New Black’s Susan Heyward as Sister Sage.

But that’s not all! Cameron Crovetti, aka Homelander’s son Ryan Butcher, is getting promoted to a full-time regular role after playing a recurring role in the last two seasons. Given how season 3 ended, it does not come as a shock that Crovetti is getting more screen time.

Last we saw the pair, Homelander (Anthony Starr) had taken the super-powered Ryan away from Grace Mallory, who was watching over him since the death of his mother. What’s worse, he went willingly, Butcher having refused to act as the boy’s father figure earlier. Homelander’s involvement in Ryan’s life can only spell trouble.

Speaking to IGNThe Boys showrunner Eric Kripke said that Homelander has some big plans for his progeny. “If [Homelander] is allowed to raise Ryan, he will raise Ryan to be a second Homelander, which will have apocalyptic stakes. If he stays in that environment, he’s on his way to becoming another Homelander. And so I think it’s a hint at what one of the major conflicts in season 4 will be, which is Butcher and Homelander having this battle over Ryan.”

Butcher versus Homelander is a fight I’m so here for. There will be chaos and drama, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Ryan will be Team Homelander. He’s already exhibiting signs of the dark side, so good luck bringing him back, Butcher!

The Boys season 4 is potentially releasing sometime between next summer and spring of 2024. I know it’s a long wait, but at least we have the first three seasons to re-binge until then.

dark. Next. No, we won’t see Young Rick Grimes in Tales of The Walking Dead
