Where are the Game Of Thrones families during House Of The Dragon?
Where is House Greyjoy during House of the Dragon?
Don’t ever call the Greyjoys as predictable. Though offered the office of Master of Ships and a seat on the small council in return for an alliance with Aegon II Targaryen, Lord Dalton Greyjoy (the Red Kraken) chooses to side with Rhaenyra Targaryen and the “Blacks” instead during the Dance of the Dragons.
Happiest while plundering and raiding, the Greyjoy fleet lays waste to the western shores of Westeros during this war, so we’ll see them in action again.
Where is House Arryn during House of the Dragon?
House Arryn is intimately linked to House Targaryen through Aemma Arryn, the first wife of Viserys I Targaryen and mother of Rhaenrya Targaryen, one of the most important characters in this story. Jeyne Arryn, the Lady of the Vale, predictably chooses to support Rhaenyra and sends troops to bolster the ranks of the “Blacks.”
As the Dance of the Dragons wears on, the noble Joffrey Arryn (Jeyne’s heir) rises to the position of a Knight of the Gate. Jeyne Arryn also hosts the young Rhaena Targaryen for the bulk of the civil war, during which time Rhaena hatches a dragon egg. Any family that helps birth a live dragon has an important role to play in a story about the Targaryens..
Where is House Tully during House of the Dragon?
After supporting Aegon I Targaryen during his conquest of Westeros, Lord Edmyn Tully was gifted the title of the first Lord Paramount of the Trident, which placed the breadth of the Riverlands under the control of House Tully. Throughout the intervening years, the Tullys prove themselves loyal allies to the Targaryens and Edmyn even serves as the Hand of the King to Aegon the Conqueror.
Fast forward to the Dance of the Dragons, and the old and noble House Tully is split amongst itself over which Targaryen claimant to back. Eventually, the Tullys and their Riverlords fight in support of Rhaenyra Targaryen and the Black Allegiance. The Tullys fight bravely but incur substantial casualties during the conflict.
