Attention, all The Walking Dead fans: the Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) spinoff series will take place in France. Yes, that’s right, France. This is very exciting for multiple reasons, one being that this franchise hasn’t gone international before.

How the heck does Daryl find himself on the other side of the ocean? And how does he get there? I’m going to guess that the CRM will somehow be involved because they are the only ones with the transportation necessary to make this happen. How exactly that will go down is beyond me.

However, The Walking Dead has teased some European connections before. In the post-credit scene from The Walking Dead: World Beyond series finale, it was revealed that the zombies/walkers on the other side of the pond had somehow evolved. They were running faster and were more aggressive than we’d seen. I think the Daryl spinoff will explore that further.

Daryl Dixon is going to France for his Walking Dead spinoff

The Walking Dead boss Scott M. Gimple talked about this during The Walking Dead Universe Preview 2022, per Comicbook.com. “Daryl is a fish out of water to start with,” he said. “If Daryl finds himself with new people, he’s a fish out of water. In France, in a country that’s going through the apocalypse, [it’s] an entirely different thing. He finds himself having to reinvent himself again, having to find himself again, and also, not being with—probably—the only people in the world he’s comfortable with.”

Originally, Daryl wasn’t supposed to be alone; he was going to have his BFF Carol with him. However, actor Melissa McBride dropped out of the show because she was unwilling to relocate to Europe for filming.

So Daryl will have to rough it out by himself in France. I have so many questions! 2023 can’t get here soon enough, folks.
