Jordan Elsass (Jonathan Kent) will not return to Superman & Lois
By Ariba Bhuvad
Jordan Elsass, who plays Jonathan Kent, will not return for Superman & Lois season 3. Warner Bros. shared the news Tuesday evening. “Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to ‘Superman & Lois’ for Season 3 due to personal reasons,” the statement reads. “The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.”
We don’t know exactly why Elsass is leaving, although sources at Variety say it doesn’t have anything to do with problems in the workplace.
Jordan Elsass will not return to Superman & Lois
Elsass’ exit from the series comes at an interesting time, given the CW has been canceling DC shows left and right. I wouldn’t be surprised if Superman & Lois to get the axe at some point, as well, so whoever plays Jonathan going forward may not have long in the spotlight. But for now, production on the third season is set to begin shortly in Vancouver.
Jonathan Kent is the son of Superman/Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Bitsie Tulloch). When we left him in season 2, he was just beginning to settle into the idea that he has superpowers like his father. It was great to watch Elsass mature as an actor over the first two seasons. It will be strange to see someone else step into his role!
In any case, we hope that all is well with Jordan Elsass! Sending him the best of luck for future projects; he will be missed on Superman & Lois.
