The galaxy far, far away is getting bigger. The second season of The Mandalorian gave us a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano, the Jedi master who became a fan favorite throughout her run on the animated show Star Wars: Rebels. Played by Rosario Dawson, it was obvious that she was being set up for her own series. And indeed, Star Wars: Ahsoka is coming down the pike.

In The Mandalorian season 2, Ahsoka was looking for Grand Admiral Thrawn, a popular villain who played a big role in the animated Star Wars Rebels series. At the end of that show, orphan-turned-Jedi Ezra Bridger sacrificed himself and ended up blasting off to parts unknown alongside Thrawn. The show ended with Ahsoka and Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren setting out to find him. We can assume that’s where the new live-action Ahsoka show will pick up.

Sabine Wren will be played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. We don’t know who’s playing Thrawn yet. But today, Cinelinx reported that actor Eman Esfandi will play Ezra Bridger.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is the only big Star Wars Rebels character yet to be cast

Esfandi had a role in Robert Rodriguez’s horror film Red 11, as well as a small part in King Richard. But for the most part, he’s not very well known. There’s nothing like a Star Wars TV show to boost your profile.

We don’t know when Ahsoka will come out, but clearly the show is coming together. If you need your Star Wars fix earlier, the new series Star Wars: Andor premieres on Disney+ on September 21.

Next. The Sandman crushed it in the ratings—Netflix, please renew this show. dark
