This week’s episode of She-Hulk was a bit more laid back than usual. There weren’t any wacky multiversal moments nor any crazy cameos (mostly). This week was about Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) going to court to fight against Titania’s (Jameela Jamil) ridiculous lawsuit.

As you might recall, at the end of last week’s episode, Jennifer was served with papers claiming she had been using the name She-Hulk without Titania’s permission. Apparently, Titania trademarked the name just as Jennifer’s superhero alter ego was becoming famous.

With the help of her coworker Mallory (Renée Elise Goldsberry), Jennifer faces off with Titania in court. Honestly, I was just happy to see Jamil on the show again! She hasn’t been around since the season premiere.

And with that, let’s get into the major moments of this week’s episode of She-Hulk! Beware SPOILERS ahead.

She-Hulk vs. Titania

Jennifer’s court battle with Titania is pretty funny. The case is silly, considering Jennifer was given the superhero moniker without her input. Everyone labeled her She-Hulk and she had no choice but to go along.

Sure, she initially rejected the name, but she eventually embraced it. Titania’s case, however, seems to have more merit, given how much evidence there is of Jennifer rejecting the name She-Hulk. She was even caught on video trying to disclaim it.

However, later in the episode, Jennifer realizes she has made her dating profile under the name She-Hulk, and a list of men who were witnesses to her using that name in her private life. It’ll be embarrassing to talk about that in court given how awful those dates were, but a witness is a witness.

Jennifer has her day in court, and she and Mallory win the case. However, that will not be the last we see of Titania; or at least, I hope not!

A new wardrobe for She-Hulk

My favorite part of the episode was Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga) and Pug (Josh Segarra) trying to go wardrobe shopping for She-Hulk. It starts with Pug asking Nikki for a favor involving high-end sneakers, but when he reveals he has a “drip broker,” they venture off into the world of custom superhero fashion.

As uneventfully as this episode began, learning that there is someone out there making clothes for superheroes put a smile on my face. How often do we get to see that aspect of superhero life?

The duo eventually finds a way to get an appointment with Luke (Griffin Matthews), who designs clothes for superheroes. He’s super elite and private, but he’s willing to help Jennifer after getting intrigued by the challenge of designing clothes for someone who can change their size at will.

She-Hulk Season 1, Episode 5 ending explained

This was the series’ first episode to air without a mid-credits scene. However, the show gave us plenty to freak out about in the final two minutes. As Jennifer tries on a suit in Luke’s loft, the camera pans to a box with something inside. Luke is annoyed that the box was just left out in the open, but I to thank whoever did that because the box contains…DAREDEVIL’S MASK!

Um, yes, that’s right, Daredevil, aka Matt Murdoch, played by the glorious Charlie Cox, is finally in the picture, and I couldn’t be happier. I know we haven’t seen him yet, but the mask shot is all I need for now.

I’m going to assume that we’ll see Cox’s Daredevil back on our screens next week. And all I can say to that is, FINALLY!!!

Grade: B+
