Marvel fans rejoice! Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has announced that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be joining him in Deadpool 3!

I know what you’re thinking; is Ryan Reynolds just joking with us? He’s gained that reputation over the years. However, this appears to be sincere. Jackman himself appears in the video. Watch it for yourself:

The video has since been shared by Jackman and Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy. I think this pretty much seals the fact that this is no troll: it is happening.

How will Wolverine be revived in Deadpool 3?

But how could Wolverine return after dying in 2017’s Logan? Bringing him back could prove divisive within the fandom. We should all know by now; mortality isn’t really a thing in superhero universes. Plus there’s the multiverse, which anyone can use to bring back dead characters.

Reynolds and Jackman addressed this concern in another video. It sounds like Deadpool 3 will simply be set before Logan, although they leave out the details:

John Krasinski to appear in Deadpool 3?

And things might get even crazier. Reynolds’ announcement got a heap of attention — over one million likes in under 24 hours — including a cryptic quote tweet from John Krasinski, who played Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “Wait… is this our movie?” he asked:

This appears to be a joke. Although Krasinski and Reynolds will both star in an upcoming movie, If, which is slated to premiere in 2024.
