Candice Patton: Final season of The Flash is “very Barry and Iris-heavy”
By Ariba Bhuvad
The Flash is finally ending with its ninth and final season. It’s one of the last Arrowverse shows standing, and currently production is working hard to wrap up the last-ever 13 episodes.
Series star Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) spoke to TVLine about what fans can expect from the home stretch. I hope the ending is more exciting than the last couple seasons. The show has felt like it’s been dragging for quite some time. In its prime, The Flash was amazing. Here’s hoping things turn a corner as we head into the final episodes!
The Flash’s final season will be “very Barry and Iris-heavy”
Patton revealed the final season will be “very Barry and Iris-heavy” and will “send them off in a way that will please the fans.”
"They have a legacy to fulfill, so hopefully we’ll get to that. I’m eager to see [what happens], as well. […] It’s a lot of Barry and Iris. They’re not going to be separated. They are together and they are figuring it out as a team. I feel like they’re a strong superhero team this season."
Did she say they won’t be separated?! Thank goodness, because they are always apart. I could not handle it if the final season had them apart from each other the entire time.
When she thinks about the end of the show, Patton says that “the emotions haven’t really hit me yet” and that “it feels like any other season.” She and the cast have been enjoying every single moment.
The Flash season 9 will air on the CW sometime next year!
