The Wheel of Time season 2 isn’t coming in November 2022
By WiC Staff
When season 1 of The Wheel of Time premiered in late 2021 on Prime Video, it promised the beginning of a bold new fantasy saga. The show earned some mixed reactions from longtime fans, but overall it was well enough received that Prime Video is moving full steam ahead on seasons 2 and 3.
But when will we actually get to watch them? What happens next, now that the identity of the Dragon Reborn has been revealed and one of the Dark One’s most fearsome lieutenants has escaped his prison?
Let’s round up everything we’ve learned about The Wheel of Time season 2 in the past month!
When is The Wheel of Time season 2 release date?
If you’re wondering when you’ll be able to watch season 2 of The Wheel of Time, alas, it will not be in November of 2022. As things stand, Amazon has not yet announced a release date for the show’s sophomore season.
However, it’s not all bad news. We know for sure that The Wheel of Time season 2 was slated to premiere sometime after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which has now finished its first season. At New York Comic-Con last month, the first sneak peek of The Wheel of Time season 2 was revealed; it gave us a look at the Seanchan as well as new Mat Cauthon actor Dónal Finn, and hinted at a larger role for the Dark One’s lieutenants, the Forsaken. Shortly afterward, The Wheel of Time official Twitter account shared the first image of actor Ceara Coveney in full garb as Elayne Trakand.
So even if we don’t have a release date quite yet, there’s a lot of promising updates coming from Randland. The Wheel of Time season 2 is currently in post-production. A 2023 release date looks extremely likely.
