On this week’s episode of the Take the Black podcast, we discuss HBO’s (unsurprising) cancelation of Westworld, Netflix’s renewal of The Sandman, and more.

Welcome back to Take the Black, the only online talk show where we discuss androids, anthropomorphic personifications of the human condition, superheroes, dragons, space lasers, and more. This week the news is all about cancellations and renewals. HBO axed the mind-bending science fiction drama Westworld, Netflix wants to give us more adventures with the Endless in The Sandman, and other shows like The White LotusThe Peripheral, and Star Wars: Andor are all going strong. Let’s discuss:

Take the Black host Dan Selcke was out this week, on a grand adventure to secure justice and freedom for all (aka jury duty). In his place, Daniel Roman and guest host Natalie Zamora talk about all things Westworld, looking back on the show’s many ups and downs and what it means that HBO has decided to prematurely end the show before its fifth and final season. We also speculate on Netflix’s cryptic renewal for The Sandman: we’re getting more episodes, but will it actually be a season 2, specials, or some combination of the two?

After all that, we get into early reviews of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and hit on all the fun stuff we’re watching right now like The White Lotus, 1899The Peripheral, and Andor. There’s a lot to talk about this week!
