With headliner Henry Cavill leaving the mainline series, Netflix’s expanding The Witcher universe is in an uncertain state. Might they be able to get people excited again by debuting The Witcher: Blood Origin, a show set long before the events of the original series that depicts how human beings first came to the Continent, driving out the Elves who lived there originally? Watch the teaser trailer and see if it sparks anything:

Blood Origin is anchored by Michelle Yeoh, who is always terrific. But is she enough to buoy this appendage of a fantasy show? We’ll find out when The Witcher: Blood Origin comes out on December 25.

In other Netflix news, the streamer dropped a trailer for Guillermo Del Toro’s new version of Pinocchio, which looks like it’s gonna beat the tar out of Disney’s recent live-action remake:

Pinocchio comes out on December 9.

Go behind the scenes of Wednesday on Netflix

Shifting gears a little bit, Netflix dropped a behind-the-scenes featurette about Wednesday, the upcoming Addams Family show run by Tim Burton. Take a look:

This looks a little like The Addams Family meets Harry Potter: it’s got Addams Family characters, but it’s set at what is essentially a magic school. That’s different from the usual Addams Family formula, where the ooky-spooky family is contrasted with ordinary people who don’t know what to make of these freaks. If everyone at Nevermore Academy is as weird as Wednesday, is anybody really weird?

We’ll see whether Wednesday pulls it off it debuts on November 23. And yes, that is a Wednesday.

Finally, moving away from Netflix, Lionsgate just dropped a trailer for John Wick 4. Over-the-top Keanu Reeves action incoming!

John Wick 4 comes out in theaters on March 24 of next year.
