If you’d love to see Sam Heughan on Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, raise your hand. You can’t see me raising my hand right now, but I am absolutely on board with this idea.

While speaking with presenter Holly Newson, Heughan admitted that he’d love to be a part of the fantasy series, if they’ll have him. I mean, they are confirmed for another season, so if anyone in charge hears the Outlander star, sign him up!

“I’m still desperate to be an elf or a dwarf,” Heughan said. “So if The Rings of Power are still casting, I’m available! I’ve even got a ginger wig if they’re interested.” Newson said that she could imagine Heughan as an elf. So can I Holly, so can I.

Sam Heughan wants to play an elf or a dwarf on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

I think Heughan would make an amazing elf. The guy is no stranger to fantasy shows. He’s been playing the role of Jamie Fraser on Outlander for quite some time now. If he can be on a show about time travel, why not one about magic and sorcery?

Heughan’s name is also tossed around a lot when the topic of who should play the next James Bond comes up. I don’t know if that rumor will ever be borne out, but it’s nice to hear him talking about a different role.

In this same interview, Heughan also talks about his childhood, attending Edinburgh College of Art, and his new memoir, Waypoints: My Scottish Journey.
