Would Amy Adams ever return to the big screen as Lois Lane? She weighed in on this during Wednesday’s premiere of Disenchanted in Hollywood. While on the red carpet, Adams was asked about Henry Cavill’s unexpected return as Superman, whom she starred opposite in movies like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. “Isn’t it exciting? I’m thrilled for [Henry Cavill], He’s such a wonderful Superman so I’m very excited for him,” she said.

When asked this burning question, Adams was very insistent that she doesn’t know whether she will be back as Lois Lane. “They haven’t spoken to me about it,” she said. “If it’s me, great. If it’s somebody else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past so I’ll support whatever direction they go.”

As an Amy Adams fan, I’d love to see her return. She might not be the best Lois Lane in history — as she said, a lot of people have played the role over the years — but she definitely put her stamp on it. Also, given all the upheaval the DCEU has gone through, it would be nice to bring her back for the sake of consistency. Is Henry Cavill going to return as Clark Kent only for someone else to be playing Lois Lane?

Will Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reunite for new Superman movie?

Henry Cavill shocked fans when he took to social media last month to announce that he would return as the Man of Steel following his cameo in Black Adam. Many were hoping we’d see him pop up at some point in the movie, but we didn’t expect Cavill to drop everything to reprise the role.

Cavill is putting all his eggs in the Superman basket, so to speak, as he will be ending his days on Netflix’s The Witcher as Geralt of Rivia.

Perhaps Cavill can now advocate for Amy Adams’ return to the DCEU as Lois Lane?
