Of all the Marvel shows coming to Disney+, Daredevil: Born Again may be the one generating the most hype. It will feature the return of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in his own series, as well as the return of Vincent D’onofrio’s villainous Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk.

Fisk has already made one appearance outside of the original Daredevil and Defenders shows on Netflix. He was the main villain in Hawkeye, where he was seemingly shot dead by Echo in the finale. Evidently, he doesn’t die, although he might bear the scars for life. In the comics, Kingpin goes blind.

Whether he ends up blind or not, D’onofrio is super excited to step back into Fisk’s shoes. For anyone concerned that Disney will change the tone of the series, worry not. It’ll be just as gripping as the Daredevil we know and love. “You guys have no idea what you’re in store for with Born Again,” D’onofrio said during Salt Lake FanX 2022. “I know a little bit more than you guys. And all I can say is, during that next series, you’re not going to be thinking about anything but the next episode. I promise.”

Vincent D’onofrio wants Kingpin to fight Spider-Man in the MCU

Unlike the Netflix Daredevil show, Born Again will be set firmly in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, which theoretically means that other MCU characters could show up. Out of the hundreds of characters to choose from, D’onofrio wants Kingpin to take on Spider-Man. “I mean, there’s only one really end goal,” he said.

And that’s not all. Not only does D’onofrio want to take on Tom Holland’s Spidey, but also Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s versions of the character.

"Well, I know a lot of these answers that I give you are not the answers that you want, but I want to fight all of them. It doesn’t even have to be at the same time. I just want them all. Just finally, let’s know the truth. I want them all."

If anyone can make it happen, it’s Kevin Feige.

Vincent D’onofrio says Daredevil: Born Again will dive deeper into the characters

Crossovers aside, D’onofrio wants everyone to know that the reboot won’t slack on developing the characters, which was something the original series did extremely well. “I’m trying to have to stick to the rules, so I will only say that Charlie and I are going to be given the chance to dig deeper than ever before with our characters,” he teased.

We’ll have to wait until 2024 before we see Daredevil: Born Again on our screens. Between now and then, however, we’ll see Kingpin return in Echo next year on Disney+!
