On Sunday, HBO released the trailer for its adaptation of the post-apocalyptic zombie video game The Last of Us. Take a look:
The show revolves around Joel and Ellie, respectively a hardened survivor of the zombie apocalypse and a young woman who is mysterious immune virus that has ravaged the world. It’s Joel’s job to escort Ellie across a zombie-ridden United States to get her a lab where scientists can use her immunity to potentially create a cure.
On the show, Joel and Ellie are played by Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones). In the games, Joel was voiced by Troy Baker, who has almost 400 acting credits to his name. He’s not playing the lead role in HBO’s adaptation, but showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann still found a way to honor him by giving him a cameo.
