Wednesday dropped on Netflix just a few weeks ago and quickly became one of the biggest hits in the history of the streamer. Star Jenna Ortega is up for a Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes while the show itself is up for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy). The show is a smash! Surely a second season is forthcoming?

Well…probably, but Netflix is taking its sweet time with it. There hasn’t been an official announcement about a second season, which is odd given how successful the first has been. Star Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Wednesday’s ooky-spooky mother Morticia, simply told E! News that, “We have no idea.”

The first season left room open at the end for a continuation. Given how popular the series has been, I have to assume that Netflix wants more. Whatever’s holding them up, hopefully they’ll sort it out and we’ll hear about a renewal before the end of the year.

In the meantime, Zeta-Jones is seriously busy. In addition to her role in Wednesday, you can you see her in the new show National Treasure: Edge of History. She plays villain Billie Pearce.

“When Jerry Bruckheimer called, I was thinking, ‘What am I gonna play in it?” Zeta-Jones recalled. “And then they told me that I will be playing this badass antiques dealer, black market trader who is looking for this treasure and is in a cat and mouse game with the leading lady. I was like, ‘Yo, stop, this sounds like fun.'”

National Treasure: Edge of History premieres on Disney+ tomorrow, December 14.
