Outlander season 7 is officially premiering in 2023! That’s according to star Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), who posted a picture of himself and Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) in what appears to be an image from the upcoming seventh season.

The caption reads, “Lots to look forward to in the new year! Happy Holidays all!” with COMING IN 2023 written in bold and color at the bottom of the picture. When I got up this morning and saw Heughan’s post, I squealed from the excitement.

The end of the Droughtlander is nigh!

Outlander season 7 will premiere sometime in 2023

What makes this announcement even better is that we are getting 16 episodes in season 7! Because of problems with the pandemic, we only got eight episodes in season 6. But now Outlander is making up for lost time with a mega-sized season.

Outlander season 6 left off on a cliffhanger with Claire and Jamie once again being separated. Claire was arrested after being accused of murdering Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds), who was found dead in the Frasers’ garden. Of course, we know she isn’t responsible for the murder. Proving that will be a massive part of the upcoming season.

Outside of that, not much is known about season 7. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait very long before we find out more. See you all in 2023!
