Jeremy Renner recovering after two surgeries following snow plow accident
By Ariba Bhuvad
Jeremy Renner has been recovering from two surgeries following a New Year’s Day snow-plowing accident in Nevada, according to the actor’s spokesperson. As of Monday night, Renner was in the ICU in “critical but stable condition.”
The Sheriff’s Office of Washoe County responded to a call regarding a “traumatic injury” that involved Renner in Reno. He was found injured and eventually transported via helicopter to the nearest hospital. According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, Renner was the only one involved in the snow-plowing accident.

Details on how the accident occurred have not been released, but there is an ongoing investigation to figure out what might have happened. The Sheriff’s office will give a press briefing this afternoon to provide more updates.
Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve spoke to the Reno Gazette Journal and shared that Renner had been helping a stranded motorist when the accident happened. As a friend of Renner’s, Schieve knows from personal experience that, “He is always helping others.”
This accident came on the heels of a heavy snowfall of around 6-12 inches, and even up to 18 inches in some parts of Reno. Renner even showed off all the snowfall on the area in a video of himself driving a snowplow.
We know Renner suffered from “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.” The damage appears to be extensive, and it is unknown if he will require more surgeries after these first two. We’ll have to wait for more news from the Sheriff’s Office.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Jeremy Renner and his family as he recovers from this unfortunate and frightening incident. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will be home soon!
